Reduce Thermal Bridging in your Home
The method displayed below shows how to reduce thermal bridging and elevate your home’s energy efficiency level.
Thermal bridging in walls can be drastically reduced by adding an additional interior cavity, usually at 50mm thick and allowing for a further R1.4 of insulation. The additional layer of insulation essentially covers up the majority of the structural timber, similar to adding layers of clothes before going outside on a cold day. This method allows for services such as plumbing and wiring to be run through the internal cavity.
